News and Randomness Part2

It is amazing how life can manage to be so spirit-crushing and so magnificent at the same time.

So. I've been having a bit of a rough time at uni and I'm pretending to have a social life right now, which is why I've not been submitting new pieces. I'll still be around stalking each and every one of you, just not a lot of my art to ruin your meals (:
My current project is my "From Safety.. to where?" series, which I have to say I'm pretty excited about. I've been dying to do a series since forever, I just think they are so cool xD As the name states, these pieces are all about leaving a safe place, your comfort zone, and stepping into a more vulnerable state. We've all been there. It's how we grow and get to experience new things, good and bad. I don't know. I thought it would be interesting. I'm not that creative. The crack doesn't help much either.

On a side note, it occurred to me that this place reached the 1,000 pageviews mark sometime.. last week? Maybe? Anyway. I really don't think pageviews matter that much, but I'll just take this opportunity to thank everyone who's dropped by - and a special thank you goes to my dear friends and watchers. You have no idea how much your support means to me and I am just thrilled to have so many talented and sweet, awesome people by my side here. Thank you x1,000.

My name is Anna, I'm 19 years old and I currently attend university as a Computer Science student. Because I hate life that much. I have been working with digital art ever since there was a computer within 10 feet of me, but I've only more recently started fiddling around with photomanipulations. I have been a great admirer of that type of art for ages, yet it was only in December '08 that I first tried my hand at my very own photomanip and things went from there. My art, if you can call it that, is done purely to pass the time and to let go of my chaotic reality, thus the fact it is mainly escapist/fantasy-themed. All of my works are done using the GIMP, v2.6. That's right, no Photoshop for me. Because I'm that hardcore.

After a very long battle with my own self-esteem, I decided to join DA, since keeping my works to myself was getting to be a lonely existence. I truly hope to improve my skills in time and I know this great community has just what it takes to help me with that (: To all of you dropping by my gallery, thank you very much for your visit, and to all my friends and watchers, thank you very much for all your support. <3
